Research and development at the reactor is limited by its low power. Therefore, research is focused on the preparation and development of training tasks, validation of various neutronic calculations, study of multiplying systems dynamics, I&C development, neutron and gamma ray detector calibration, validation of miscellaneous blankets neutronic parameters, etc.
Testing of detectors and reactimeters for Temelín NPP by VÚJE Trnava can be mentioned as an example. Another example is feasibility study of MEDIPIX neutron detectors for PBMR reactor developed for the Republic of South Africa.
