Experimental equipment

Experimental and device equipment as well as handling tools correspond to type of the reactor, its nominal power and usiage. Original equipment was through 17 years of operation successively supplemented and renewed so that it follows present level of technology and elecronics, and it also allows wide range of using. Among the most considerable experimental equipment belongs:

  • radial horizontal channel; diameter 200 mm with a plug and possible reduction to 90 mm,
  • tangential horizontal channel diameter 100 mm with a plug and an embedded channel, which connects to the fixtures of tangential channel and reaches to direct proximity of the active core,
  • vertical channels of various diameters (56, 32, 25, or 12 mm), which may be installed to the active core or reflector. Channels of diameter 56 mm are equiped with shielding column,
  • berilium and graphite blocks,
  • fuel shape dummies,
  • pneumatic dispatch (rabbit),
  • experimental device DOJICKA (aka MILKER) for dalayed neutron study,
  • experimental device BUBLINKY (aka BUBBLES) for bubble boiling simulation and void coeficient of reactivity study,
  • experimental device HOPIK (aka SKIPPER) for study of quick changes of reactivity on tow power research reactors,
  • experimental device DRAT (aka WIRE) for measurment of activity of wire shaped samples,
  • experimental device B417 for study of neutronic atributes of transmutation materials,
  • neutron catcher and charging cart for handling horizontal channels cap,
  • manipulators.

Multichannel analysers of various types: 3-channel analyser, semiconductor HPGe gama-spectrometer, scintilation and semiconductor detectors, low activity gauger, portable dosimetres, activation materials, cadmium capsules, fission and boron chambers, etc belong among instrumentation which follows present reactor usage requirements. Instrumentation supports computers interconnected by high-speed netvork Ethernet 100Mb/sec.
